HEADING

The production superintendent has responsibility over the production of products sold by a particular company, according to Job Genie. This superintendent must be aware of technological advances that can benefit the production facility and must make sure that these advances are integrated. He also makes sure that the production facility meets all quality control standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Superintendent responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 

Supervise and control operation plant facilities for the processing of crude oil and hydrocarbon gas for reservoir management and fuel gas
Plan, direct and maintain inventory of production chemicals at the field.
Monitor performance of all facilities and equipment to achieve safe and efficient operation of plant facilities, utilities, safety and emergency equipment
Coordinate with Maintenance Superintendent on work plan, monitor and assist in the activities to minimize or prevent disruption to plant operation during planned or unplanned maintenance work.
Know and enforce all company regulations and safety procedures to ensure high safety standard.
To train and develop subordinates to achieve high competency
Record and maintain data and events related to production, plant condition and downtime and take the lead in the LPO (Lost Production Opportunity) reporting.

In larger companies there may be close links between production management and general or strategic management and marketing or finance roles.

QUALIFICATION

Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills

Timely contribution of data and upkeep of events related to production, onshore plant condition, downtime and maintaining of record.  Conceptually sound and technically experienced in getting the things done.  Good managerial and interpersonal skills are crucial  10 - 15 years working experience in Oil and Gas environment.  Diploma in Engineering studies Requirements (Minimum education required, background, experience, skills)
